Justen Barber September Music Monday AAOP An Art of Perspective

Music Monday: September Selection

As summer officially leaves (no pun ;)), I wanted to put together a selection of tracks that both take me back to the hot summer out-door parties and festivals but also cool down to the Fall Season that’s rolling in. Songs that have been in my head for awhile, throwback tracks, and a few  simply too good to not share.

First up are two dance-floor shaking house music tracks from two very prolific in the scene right now. Prok & Fitch give Kraak & Smaak’s “The Future is Yours” their iconic remix treatment and deliver an up-beat tech house and very dance-able feel to track.

Next is House music legend, taste-maker, producer and DJ, Mark Knight with his remix of “Shake That” by Dansson & Marlon Hoffstadt. The vocals in this track have been sampled all over, but none use it quite as good as Mark Knight.

Following my usual House music picks come two tracks by two artist I featured in my July Selection. FKJ  is first with a ‘top-down cruising down California’s Coastal Highway 1 on a Sunday afternoon’ feeling track .

Darius with an equally smooth track featuring the soothing vocals of KLP. These two artist continue to produce and remix some great music, be sure to follow them on SoundCloud.

The next two tracks are by three Dance Music dj’s and producers I was able to see at Made In America Music Festival a couple weeks ago. Afrojack & Steve Aoki, who both closed out one of the main stages on their respective nights, team up on the first track “No Beef” featuring the vocals of Miss Palmer.

Following that is a bass heavy dance-club track by Amsterdam’s own Yellow Claw, who wore the crowd out with their raging energetic Saturday afternoon set at the festival.

The playlist ends with two tracks that would fall right into a summer 2012 playlist for me, but had to bring them back for this Selection. Annie Mac presents a very dance-able grooving house track by Irish Producer Krystal Klear “Krystal Waters” that takes me right back to the beach.

Lastly is a song that everyone seems to know the words to but cant say where they first heard it. Manolo (Roberto Rodriguez) with Night Rhythm, the perfect closer to any party, guaranteed to have the who crowd singing, clapping, and jumping together all the way to the end.
